Patriotic Shaker Cards

I decided to make my first attempt at some shaker cards. The Hero Arts “I thank my lucky stars for you” seemed perfect for this! I put some stars and loose rhinestones in each one.

Hi Cara, I love these cards! Can’t wait to get time this weekend to work on this week’s challenge.

Can you tell me what a Shaker card is?

Very nice. I like them both, but the second one is my favorite. I have never tried shaker cards. You have inspired me to try it.

These are great! I love the added rhinestones. 🙂

These are both really nice! Great idea for a way to add some glitz while avoiding the danger of glitter to our heroes. Great work!

Basically in between the sentiment on this card and a layer of plastic that is over the window, I used foam adhesive to create a gap and put rhinestones and stars in there. With this gap, when you shake the card those pieces move around.

  6. These are cute, what a fun idea! I like the second one with the ribbon as my fav (:

Thanks for playing in our Midweek Throwdown challenge at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps!

Your shaker cards are wonderful! And, the ribbon going down the left side of the second card is a perfect touch!

I’ve not tried to make any shaker cards before — but you’ve certainly inspired me to give them a try.

Thanks so much for playing along with the VCMP “sister cards” challenge!

Hi Cara! I love your shaker cards! They are so festive for July 4th!! Who makes the tiny star ef? I had been looking for one! These cards will be SO much fun for heroes’ loved ones to receive. I’ve never tried this, either, but it sounds fun.

The stars are from a Fiskar’s punch that I probably found at a big box store.
